The team has faced challenges this year finishing at around a .500 winning percentage, losing to key Duneland Athletic Conference teams like, Chesterton, Merriville, Lake Central, Valparaiso and Crown Point. They however, beat other teams like Michigan City, LaPorte, Boone Grove and Wheeler.
“Sometimes we really pull together but other times I know we don’t live up to our potential,” Barcelli said.
The team hopes to live up to their potential going into the post-season. The Indians plan on continuing their hard work at practice and staying together as a team to give them the best chance to go far in the post-season.
“We’re going to show up to practice and really bust our butts. We’re going to supportive of each other and really be there as a team,” Barcelli said.
The team looks to have a good showing at the DAC Conference Meet to start a successful post-season run. The team opens the post-season. The post-season kicks off with sectionals Tuesday, May 15, and will take place at Chesterton High School.
